دخول مدونة : Reactive powder concrete RPC is special type of Ultra High Performance Concrete discovered in 1990s by Richard & Cheyrezy in France, which the material consist this type are grading in particle size from less than 600 µm to particle fines 100 times of cement. So, it is not concrete it similar to DSP material (densified with small particles). RPC is content cement ,fine sand or glasses sand ,Pozzolanic material , superplastizer(high range water reducer) and fiber(steel or polymer ) ; each one of this material have special properties and performance give RPC his name. Also the process to design ,mixing, casting, pressing and curing have special consideration to investigate the properties of reactive powder concrete which some of them are (high compressive strength more than 180 MPa , flexural strength 40-50 MPa, fracture energy 1200-40000 J/m2 and more) make the application of using concrete in large contractions possible like water tight structure ;precast member with large span ,,,,,etc. RPC has found application in the storage of nuclear waste, bridges, roofs, piers, seismic-resistant structures and structures designed to resist impact/blast loading. Owing to its high compression resistance, precast structural elements can be fabricated in slender form to enhance aesthetics. Durability issues of traditional concrete have been acknowledged for many years and significant funds have been necessary to repair aging infrastructure.:smile:
